The Sheffield Interior Design Course consists of the 30 lessons described below, each of
which is supplemented by page-by-page guidance on Sheffield audio programs
and step-by-step demonstrations on Sheffield training video programs.
We create all our own interior design course teaching materials - there are none like them used
anywhere else. You'll find in this Course all sorts of exciting ideas for
totally new and beautiful effects and the results you achieve under our
guidance will surprise and delight you.
|
|
After you complete the Sheffield Interior Design Course, you will receive our respected
Certificate showing you've completed our unique training. But, even more
important, you'll have presentation materials showing beautiful rooms that
you've designed. These presentation "boards" can be your first portfolio
for your own business, or a powerful addition to your resume if you're
seeking a job in the design field.
|
|
We want you to get a "feel" for the type of training you'll get in your
Sheffield Interior Design Course and find out for yourself why Sheffield lessons are so
easy and enjoyable to read at home - and so complete and attractive.
So we offer you this opportunity to "try out" excerpts from two of
Sheffield's typical lessons -
Eye of the Designer
and
Furniture Layout.
|
|
|
Also be aware that each of these excerpts is exactly as it appears in
the illustrated lesson that each Sheffield student receives. Accordingly,
you will find occasional reference to earlier projects completed by
Sheffield students. Please disregard these references. Rather, focus on
the concepts being presented and consider the easy-to-understand way
they are presented and how simple
they are to follow.

30 Complete Lessons
|
|
Eye of the Designer.
Your Interior Design Course starts you at the very beginning.
You learn how to "see" a room, what to look for
how to plan ahead
how to visualize the finished result. Most importantly, you learn the
"Three Sheffield Guidelines" that you will use as the key to successfully
decorating any room. Click here to read an excerpt from this Sheffield
lesson.
|
|
Planning for People.
Successful rooms are rooms that "work" for people. Our exclusive Lifestyle
Questionnaire helps you determine the personal needs of your clients - and
their budgets and taste. And
if you are decorating for yourself, the
Questionnaire will enable you to nail down your own personal preferences
once and for all.
|
|
Sketching A Room.
You are shown a simple way to measure a room and make a rough sketch of
all its details - including closets, windows, doors, fireplaces, radiators,
electrical fixtures, unusual shapes.
|
|
Drawing A Floor plan.
You don't need any artistic ability to convert your rough sketch into
a professional floor plan using our unique, simple, step-by-step method.
You're provided with all the tools you need - drawing board, T-square,
graph paper, even pencils!
|
|
Planning A Furniture Layout.
Now we get to the fun! You learn to plan a workable and beautiful
furniture layout, including how to create a focus, establish an axis,
and provide for traffic patterns. You will use exclusive Sheffield
Furniture Cutouts to help you, moving them around on your floor plan,
and testing different possible layouts until you find the one you like
the best. (It's so much easier - and more fun - to move a paper piano
around, rather than the real thing!) When you're fully satisfied with
your layout, you then use your exclusive Sheffield Furniture Templates
to quickly trace the layout onto the floor plan.
