Architectural Elements

Ever wonder what a room would look like with new trim around the ceilings or doors? Want to add old-world architectural details to a room but are not sure what it would look like? Visit www.balmerstudios.com/resources/index.html for a great set of virtual tools including a cornice selector, door trim selector and even a ceiling medallion selector.

3D Virtual Room Demos

You'll find a free 3D interior design program available at www.hammel-furniture.dk/3dinterior.htm. This cool tool lets you view your room designs from all angles and will even print order lists based on your designs. However, you will have to download this program which can take some time.

Another interesting site is See My Design which features a virtual 3D room demo at www.seemydesign.com/app/RoomChoicesSessionSetter. You'll be able to see realistic living room designs with millions of possible combinations of elements, paint, furniture, wallpaper, window and floor coverings and more.

At Wear-Dated Carpet & Upholstery, www.wear-dated.com/dp/ you will be shown several examples of home furnishings, such as sofas, chairs or carpet, which you can select to appear in "your room."

www.millspride.com/mills/kitchendesign/index.htm links you to The Mill's Pride Online Kitchen Design program, which features the ability to dynamically generate a kitchen design based on the dimensions and criteria you specify. A 3D generated rendering of your dream kitchen designed exactly the way you need it will appear in a matter of minutes.
