Where do Sheffield students live? How old are they? How
do they feel about the Sheffield School after they've
taken the Course? Here are all the facts.
Sheffield students enroll from all parts of the world. About two-thirds reside in the United States and Canada. About one-third live in other countries around the world - in Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia, and the Pacific Rim. The typical Sheffield student is an adult in his or her twenties, thirties, or forties. Some are still in their teens, and others in their "Golden Years." |
|
Why are most Sheffield students adults? Because adults
usually have family and work responsibilities that make
attendance in "traditional" classes extremely
difficult - sometimes, impossible! Distance education
is perfect for them because they are able to learn at
home, in their spare time, without quitting their regular
jobs or traveling to night school, or ignoring their
other responsibilities.
Adults are especially able to train at home because they have the maturity. We have found they achieve especially rapid results with Sheffield because of the unique Sheffield Teaching Method - using video programs on DVD, audio programs, e-mail and all the other Sheffield techniques to that "bring the teacher into their homes." |
|
What is the objective of most Sheffield students?
This is a hard question to answer since every student is an individual
with individual goals and dreams. Yet we know from experience
that Sheffield students can be divided into three broad categories:
About one-quarter of our students want to start new full-time careers in interior design. They enroll in the Sheffield Course because they want to become full-time professional interior designers - with all the newfound freedom, satisfaction, and income this career can mean. (The Sheffield business lessons that every student receives are particularly important to them because these lessons explain in detail how to get started as a professional interior designer, how to set up your own studios, how to organize your business, how to promote and sell...how to succeed!) |
|
About one-quarter of our students want to earn extra money as
freelance interior designers in their spare time. They enroll
because they want to learn interior design for their own personal
satisfaction and possibly earn extra spare-time money as freelance
professional interior designers on weekends or evenings.
About half of our students want to learn interior design strictly for their own personal satisfaction. They want to use interior design as an outlet for their creative self-expression. They want to be able to decorate their own homes (or re-decorate them) as showcases for their talent. They want to live in a beautiful home that they themselves have created - a home that will be admired by their spouses, children, family, friends, and neighbors. |
|
|
And, of course, all Sheffield students are eager to gain access
to "trade-only" showrooms where they can buy fabrics, furniture,
and all their household needs at deep discount.
No matter what their objectives, all Sheffield students share two traits in common - a desire for creative self-expression...and a willingness to learn! What do Sheffield students think of their Course? Like you, many had doubts before they enrolled. Was Sheffield really the finest course they could get anywhere? Would they really be able to learn at home with the exclusive Sheffield interior decoration lessons, video programs, and audio programs? Would they really get individual attention when they mailed in their design projects? Would they really enjoy the course? Would they really succeed? Here are some candid comments we've received from other Sheffield students. Will you have the same wonderful experience?
